Treasure Hune Part 2

Stop #2 was Creative Hands in Spring Hill.  The "walking taco" stand out front kind of threw us a little, but inside I found another cuttlebug embossing folder and some pirate swag.  At the checkout we were given a little chocolate goodie, so this store earned bonus points for giving us a little sugar rush. :)  We also liked the little area for photo ops!

Stop #3 was Stamp and Scrap A-latte also in Spring Hill.  When we arrived at this store, we noticed that the tour bus wasn't far behind so we felt rushed to get our shopping done and get out!  It didn't help that the store staff was slightly frantic because the bus was arriving.  I did run into Linda & Judy (from my chiropractor's office) and Linda was kind enough to take our group photo!  I bought some beautiful prima flowers at this store.  We also received the most entertaining tag for our beads at this location...a tag w/a shaker box on it...it was VERY entertaining for the remainder of the day.

Treasure Hunt...Part 1

For the past several years, several scrapbook stores in the Tampa Bay area have hosted an annual Treasure Hunt.  I have never participated before, but this year, Connie, Kim and I took on the challenge of visiting 9 stores in 2 days.  (You technically have a little over 2 weeks to visit all the stores, but we were trying to tackle them all in one weekend).  You have to buy a bag for $10 when you register for the hunt.  Our "bags" came will all sorts of goodies worth a lot more than the $10 fee.  (6x6 album, 2 sheets of double sided paper, ribbon, chipboard, brads, chipboard album and stickers)  The bag also included beads for us to wear (they were pink much to Connie's dismay) and a passport that must get stamped at each store after you make a minimum purchase of $5 (we also received a 10% discount at each store).  Once you have visited all the stores, you turn your passport in and you are entered into a drawing w/a grand prize of $900!!!  WooHoo!!  Here's how our adventure went...

Store #1 was The Stamping Studio in Spring Hill, FL.  It was a small store that definitely was more stamp geared than scrapbooking.  I found a cuttlebug embossing folder 2 sheets of paper and a skull die cut to meet my minimum purchase requirement.  (I was really trying to behave and not overspend on this little adventure).

That's all for now...I have to go get some work done!

Injured Again!!!

I have stuff I need to post, but I injured my back late Sunday night and will be taking a small break from the craft room to recover (sitting for hours in my task chair is not very comfortable right now).  Hope to post something by this weekend!  Have a great rest of the week!

TGIF!!!

I am SO ready for the weekend.  Do you ever have those weeks where you don't want to get out of bed to go to work all week long?  Well, this week that is how I felt.  It hasn't helped that it has been a painfully slow week for me at work.  I have been bored to tears most afternoons which makes the days just CRAWL.  Don't get me wrong...I am happy to have a job and when I am having crazy days I will be missing the slow ones, but it's just been a long, boring week.

So, with all that said...let the weekend begin!!!  I need some rest and I need time in my scrappy place.  What's on the agenda in my scrappy place this weekend???  Easter cards for Operation Write Home, a make up workshop on Sunday with one of my work pals and prep for my upcoming workshop at the end of March.

I think the Easter cards will go quickly as I've already designed it and will be making about 20 duplicates...if my math is right.  I'll do my best to remember to take pictures and post them!

Until later...

February Workshop featuring Wings

I have pictures from the workshop this past weekend!  We worked with the Wings Workshop on the Go from Close to my Heart.  The colors in this paper pack are Vineyard Berry, Juniper, Black and Sweet Leaf.  Garden Green, Olive and New England Ivy also compliment this paper well.  Here are some pictures of the artwork my ladies completed!

This is Connie's layout.  She mixed up some of the patterned papers to make it her own.  She also stamped some small butterflies and colored them with colored pencils to use as her embellishments.  How creative!

These next few cards were created by Erica.  She used some card patterns designed by Pam Thorn (another CTMH consultant) who was gracious enough to share her hard work!

The picture below is the inside of the above card.

This next layout is Kashana's version of the featured layout.  She switched out some of the patterned paper and cardstock colors.

This picture is of Hanna's layout.  She also changed up a lot of the paper.  Hannah is our youngest workshop attendee...she just turned 12!  She did a great job!

I hope you enjoyed the pictures!  One of my other attendees managed to sneek out without me taking any pictures of her finished project!  I'll have to do better next month.  Until next time...
