Just a little groovy card...

I finally spent a little bit of time in my scrap room this weekend...mostly cleaning & organizing and finding places for all the stuff I've been moving around, but last night I was inspired to make this card.  It's a birthday card for my niece, Maya, who will be 11 this week.  She's a groovy girl so this seemed to suit her...it didn't hurt that I had some 80's music on in the background.  :)

The patterned paper is from Michael's...Recollections I think is the paper line.  The metallic paper was bought at WalMart a few years back and the ribbon is from Hobby Lobby, you know, those small spools you can get for a buck.  The sentiment stamp is from Papertrey Ink.  I cut the front of the card shorter so you can see the purple zebra print that lined the inside of the card.

Wow...2 post in 1 day!!

Here are a few of the birthday card kits that are prepped for the Sept. 17th party!

This next card is the same design, but we used pearlescent paper & embossed it with the same folder.  Still kind of shiny and really cute!

This is the 3rd card with the same Cricut cut...just different pattern.  For some texture, we ran the "bow" through the divine swirls cuttlebug embossing folder.  The stamp is from Papertrey Ink.  Simple, yet still cute!

This is my favorite of the 3 gift boxes.  This metallic paper was sold at WalMart a few years back...I would love to find some more of it.  It embossed beautifully and really is just as shiny in person! :)

And of course...I have to have a birthday pinwheel!  This is Pansy Purple cardstock from CTMH paired with some pattern paper from DCWV for the pinwheel and a simple gold star brad in the center.

Some things I've worked on lately...

I'll admit, I'm still not very good with keeping up with my blog.  That does not mean that I'm not crafting!  I've actually been pretty busy in my scrap room the past couple of weeks.  I don't know about you, but I find it very therapuetic.

This first card is a birthday card I made for a co-worker.  I'm not sure what company makes that paper, but the green dot paper is the backside of the hat paper.  I used CTMH stamps for the focal point and the brads are from my stash.  The card base is CTMH cardstock in "Moonstruck".

The next 3 pictures are of another birthday card I made for a co-worker.  I used paper from CTMH's Topstitch papers.  I also used ric rac in blush.  I embossed the blush piece of paper with a cuttlebug folder and highlighted some of the detail with itty bitty sparkles.

This stamp on the inside is from PaperTrey Ink.  I love their signature series stamps!

My recent OBSESSION are pinwheels.  I love making them, I love how simple they are and I love how simple and clean the cards turn out.  I have some finished cards I'll post soon...but here are some of the pinwheels finished, just waiting for a card to be attached to!  There are a variety of papers used here...Basic Grey (Lime Rickey & another one I'm not sure of the paper line), CTMH, DCWV.  For the centers we used big brads, paper flowers or buttons w/floss.

This is a card that my sister finished with a pinwheel I had made a little while ago.  The pinwheel paper is from the Sweetheart paper pack from CTMH.  She scalloped the bottom edge of the card with a Fiskars edge punch.

The next card is yet another birthday card for a co-worker.  The papers used are from the Fanfare paper pack from CTMH.  The party hat is shadowed with glitter paper from DCWV.  I used a cuttlebug embossing folder and then inked over it.  This is a 5x7 card.

This card is a 5.5 square card.  The card base is DCWV, the rest of the paper is from the Mistletoe paper pack from CTMH, as well as the poinsietta embellishment.  I love this quilt block pattern.  I think I will make some more of these for my personal Christmas cards this year. :)

These next two cards are Thank You cards made with the Bliss paper pack from CTMH.  The flowers are Prima.  The cards have the same pattern, just rotated...however, the 2nd card should have the scallop on the bottom, but I wasn't paying attention and realized after I glued all the paper down that the fold of the card was on the wrong side!!  Oops!  I still think it's OK.

Oohh, I found some more creations!

I've been so bad about taking pictures of my work and posting it, but I came across these pictures today of some cards I made pretty early on in my card making career and thought I'd get them posted before I lose them again!  (I really need to do some picture organizing soon).  I am REALLY bad at keeping track of what supplies I've used...but I'll do my best to note them if I can remember!

Supplies: Card base-DCWV textured cards, Everything else-I have no recollection!!

All supplies from one of SEI's club kits.

Supplies: Paper-DCWV, Ribbon-??, Stickers-from Wal-Mart

Supplies - Again, I have no idea...I know that the stamp was one I bought out of the dollar bin at Michael's and I cut some of the flowers on my Cricut.  I think the paper might be from K&Company back in the day.

Supplies: Card base is out of DCWV cardstock, Patterned Paper-SEI, Ribbon-???

Supplies: I think this paper is from a pack I bought at Wal-Mart a very long time ago.  I know I cut the letters and the flowers on the Cricut.

This paper is from SEI and the 'love' cut is from the Cricut.

This paper is also SEI (Mimosa).  I printed the sentiment out on vellum and used sheer ribbon scraps behind the brad.

All of the supplies for this card were from SEI except for the sentiment that I printed out on vellum.  I think the paper line from SEI is Dill Blossom.

I think that's all for now...enjoy!

This card was also made with DC & all the paper except the metallic is from DCWV. The metallic paper I bought at Wal-Mart (not sure the brand). It's a very quick & simple card, but I like it!

This is a birthday card I made using the Doodlecharms cartridge. The base card is from DCWV & I'm not sure of the manufacturer of the patterned paper.
